Mom Pods ™
Mom Pod Details:
Your Mom Pod will consist of 4-6 moms who you don't know so you can share what you might not discuss with the people you see in daily life. One hundred percent confidentiality is a requirement for each group.
Each session is 45 minutes - long enough to get value from the session but short enough to keep it feasible for your busy life. (Fun fact: That's one infant sleep cycle. Two in a row is an ideal nap!)
This is not therapy, nor is it random chit-chat. It's a space to come as you are, take what you need, and give what you can.
Sessions will be structured around specific topics but will easily adapt to the groups' needs.
The cost is $150 for all 12 weeks. That's about $12 per session. (There are coffee drinks that cost more than this, and you deserve much more than coffee. Although you most definitely deserve LOTS of coffee too.)
After 12 weeks you will have the option to renew on a monthly basis or depart.
PS: We know you are worried that your kids will need you or make noise during your session. That is life, and that is totally fine.

A Mom Pod is…
-
Hundreds of moms participated in a 2019 study across several countries where they received organized weekly sessions with peer-led supervisors (not therapists). These moms experienced significantly lower rates of depression during and after pregnancy for up to one year compared to moms without the weekly support sessions.
The results were so impressive that the World Health Organization now endorses this as an “evidence based intervention program” to improve maternal mental health, noting that “depression is the leading cause of disability in women worldwide”.
-
In the World Health Organization’s studies of programs like this, “engaging in activities pertaining to personal well-being" and "reaching out out for peer support from their communities” were key factors for mothers having positive maternal and familial outcomes.
That's a Mom Pod in a nutshell.
-
Today's mothers are more likely to be living away from their extended families and to give up, or take breaks from, high levels of employment.
This leads to a "one-two punch" of decreased familial support and a loss of personal identity, both of which increase the stress placed on their spousal relationship and mothers' feelings of overwhelm and isolation.
-
Studies have shown that children of moms with strong levels of social support have higher quality family experiences than moms lacking social support.
Families where Mom has strong social support also experience lower levels of parental stress and decreased parent-child relational difficulties.
Mom Pods help the whole family.
